Johnathon and Kaci first met just as they were both turning two years old. They
instantly bonded and immediately became as close, if not closer, as any sibling could become.
Both of these toddlers were extremely mellow and quiet for two year olds. Neither spoke very much. Not even to each other.
Yet, they had their own special way of communicating. Just one look, and the other one just knew what the other was relaying. Kaci's mom and I found it funny, as well as, kinda creepy. Without one word spoken between them, they both repeatedly displayed to us that they knew what the other one wanted.
As Johnathon grew older his favorite thing to say was "I do not like girls!".
It was too funny
because he and Kaci were connected at the hip!
When he would be asked "If you do not
like girls, then why do you play with Kaci all of the time?" He would say "HUH?"
When he would be told "Well, Kaci is a girl". He would get so mad and yell "NO SHE IS
NOT!" When he was asked "then what is she? a boy?" He would get even madder and turn
all red in the face and SCREAM "NO!!!!!! She's just
MY *K*!

Have you ever seen the show called "Dawsons Creek"? Well, this show could
have been created exclusively for Johnathon and Kaci. Johnathon is "Dawson" and
Kaci is "Joey"...Soul Mates to the end!
I remember as if it were yesterday, Kaci's sister, Kari, spent the night with Stephanie so Johnathon just had to
spend the night with his *K*.
Kaci's mom called me and said "Oh, no! What do I do!
They want to get in the bathtub together!" (they were about 3 years old). Before I could say
"Just put them in their bathing suits" she was saying "Too late! They have
just dove in bare naked!" LOL... |
One of my most vivid memories is of Johnathon telling others how to learn to
tie their shoes.
I was a stay-at-home mom and used to babysit for others. I remember Johnathon telling one of my kids "to learn how to tie your shoes, all you have to do is go to Kaci's house. Christa gets tired of tying shoes, so she teaches you how!" LOL....
Little bugger! We had tried and tried to teach him how to tie his shoes ourselves! He had no patience with
us. He must have had patience with Christa...She is the one who taught Johnathon how to tie his shoes :O)
Johnathon loved Christa so very much, and her him....she was like a second mommy to him. She drove me to the hospital that dreadful day, and was there with me when the doctors pronounced! :O( |
| Johnathon and Kaci camping |
One of our numeruos camping trips with Kaci's family.... this picture was taken at Rainbow Springs. |
A special "Thank You" goes out to Kaci's family. Without their love, support, and hard work during and after our loss of Johnathon, we never would have made it through this. We LOVE you all so much! You mean so much to us, and have a special place in our hearts....

For 1999 Mother's Day, our first without John :O( , Kaci brought me a few maps that
she drew for Johnathon. One of them is a map that shows him how to come back
home :O) |
This is Kaci's map telling Johnathon how to get to Heaven. She has drawn our
home, the funeral home, and Heaven. How does Kaci know how to get to Heaven? I
don't know either. My only guess is that children are more receptive and
understand ALOT more than we adults do. :O) |
This is Kaci's map showing Johnathon how to come back home from heaven! Thank
you so much sweet girl! WE LOVE YOU! |
This is from Tyler. Tyler is the first one who found Johnathon in a star. He
even told us at the funeral home "Johnathon is my Shining Star". Tyler wants to
know how will he find his way back to the campsite from the playground? Tyler
always "tagged" with Johnathon. Now he thinks he can't get back to us. But he
will! We have all the confidence in the world in you TYLER! LOVE YOU BUNCHES AND
BUNCHES TYLER! |
This card was given to us from Tyler's little sister, Mariah. We love you very
very much Riah! Thank you for such a beautiful card. |

We are proud to announce that Johnathon gave
THE GIFT OF LIFE! |
|
LIFELINE OF OHIO informed us that Johnathon's donated heart valves were indeed used for transplant. Johnathon was able to save two other children. One valve was sent to West Virginia for a 21 month old little boy. The other heart valve was used here in Ohio for a 2 year old little girl. My utmost and forever prayer is that these children are now able to live long and fruitful lives...My heart is lightened in knowing that a part of Johnathon's heart still beats and has contributed in the healing of other children! |
